I suppose I don’t understand. There were earlier reports of Trump allies being “raided” by the DOJ/FBI as Mar-a-Lago was. I have seen no details, like who.
This excerpt conflates being raided with getting served with a subpoena. I don’t know why, except for sensationally continuing this “raid” story.
I do see the subpoenas as harassment. Is that what makes it a raid? Is Mar-a-Logo still the only search and seizure event?
I am not condoning the FBI, just trying to understand what is happening and GP is it’s usual unhelpful self.
I saw the Tucker segment - woman had 3 agents show up at her door and told her they were there on an anonymous tip. She did not say they claimed to have a warrant. She invited them in and then proved she was not in DC on Jan 6.
Last I knew, an anonymous tip by itself is not enough to secure a warrant from a court. There has to be more. Anyone who have watched 48 hours half awake would know this. Not that law enforcement will use trickery and deceit and other tactics to bluff a target into “cooperation”. She should have demanded the warrant. No warrant? Have a nice day. No further conversation. One should mentally prepare oneself ahead of time, like a fire drill. It’s different experience when there is an armed person at the door.
It's enough to make one wonder if there isn't more to this story.
How much time can these agents have to tie up three of them on a visit like this?
If I want to report someone being in the building that day, how could I not be asked to provide some sort of evidence to show this? (How does the FBI prevent this from becoming a swatting-type epidemic?)
