Isn't this going just a little too far?

The U.S. defense official who spoke to Bloomberg stated that operational F-35 Lighting IIs won’t be affected by the discovery because the magnet in question “does not transmit information or harm the integrity of the aircraft and there are no performance, quality, safety or security risks associated with this issue.”

Is this the same guy that claimed the vote machines could not access the internet?

"An alloy magnet used in the engines of the F-35 fighter jet was sourced in China and has triggered a significant stand-down."

Isn't this going just a little too far?

Do you trust the government and media to tell you what the real part or reason is? I don't. They say magnet. It could very well be something much more critical. Maybe the chicoms installed a kill switch.

If parts from China are such a show stopper, why do we continue to rely heavily on China for our communications, pharmaceuticals, energy grid?

Not in the least. Depends on the criticallity of the part and if the parts procurement contravened any FARs dealing with classified weapons. Parts sourcing is a minefield.

This article is a little misleading......the issue is an alloy found IN a magnet not the magnet itself.

From statements in other articles I’ve read it appears they may actually wave the no chinese parts or materials regulations.

We will see.

Well, over in China, if they find one case of Covid they lock down a city of 10 million - that’s the rule!

Why don’t we make our own alloy magnets?
