“Ukrainian troops continue attacking the bridges to to keep the supply lines as as severe as possible, so they not only attacking the bridges, they’re attacking pontoon bridges, ferris everything they can.

They can reach the attacks continue non-stop so far we’re pretty sure that this is definitely creating problems for the Russian command and Russian troops and Kherson Bridgehead in terms of being able to resupply.”

The RuZZians will have to use helicopters and small boats for supply. But that is limited in capability.

VDV on their own in Kherson. It’s getting ugly for them already.

Hey, Speedster, how that Ukrainian attempt to take back the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant go yesterday? lol

https://www.moonofalabama.org/2022/09/ukraine-tries-to-prevent-iaea-inspection-of-the-zaporizhzhia-nuclear-power-plant.html#more

Over night the Ukrainian military, from positions in Vyshetarasovka, Nikopol and Marganets, again shelled the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant on the south side of the Kakhovka Dnieper reservoir.

This was fallowed by an early morning attempt by Ukrainian forces to land a sabotage group near the village north east of the ZNPP. Some seven boats, two self-motorized barges and some 60 soldiers were involved in the suicidal mission.

The paramilitary Russian National Guard (Rosgvardiya) which protects the plant immediately detected the insertion and attacked it. The Russian army send Ka-52 attack helicopters to help destroy the Ukrainian force. The two barges were sunk.

###

Dima of the Military Summary Channel thinks (vid) that the Ukrainian saboteur group was tasked with laying low until the inspectors arrive. It would then take over the plant and prevent the IAEA inspectors from leaving. They would then be hostages at the plant which would guarantee that the Russian side would be unable to retake the site.

If that really was the plan it was one of the craziest I ever heard off. Then again - the Ukrainian Zelenski regime is crazy and he and his advisors are former movie producers who are trained to come up with such plots.

CIA estimated 15,000 Russian soldiers killed. So soldiers to officer killed ratio is about 15:1

Aided by HARM strikes...

HARMs are being put to good use.

They can be launched preemptively with a priority list of which radar type to hit.

I’m busting out some serious liquor to celebrate when Russia loses their 1000th tank! W00t!!!

And today’s bit of news from the Chatter & Unconfirmed Rumor Department:

1. Eighteen young Russian men of plausibly Jewish ancestry appeared at the Israeli Embassy in Turkey requesting asylum in Israel which was granted. The eighteen reportedly made their escape from the Russian Army aboard an unspecified ship that loaded cargo in the Sea of Azov bound for the port of Samsun.

2. It is reported that approximately sixty T-55 tanks are being taken from storage and are in the process of being placed back into service. The T-55 is noted for an extensively armored turret that was designed to survive a nuclear attack and may be capable of withstanding direct hits from anti-tank missiles.

3. The museum-piece cruiser Mikhail Kutuzov alongside at Novorossiysk showed a thermal plume on August 28th indicating that its engines had been successfully started. Numerous rumors and intel indicate this ship is being placed back into service by the Russian Navy.

4. Several explosions and subsequent large fires were noted in Yurga, home of the 120th Artillery Brigade of the 41st Army. A nearby grocery store reported broken windows and fires.

5. The 37th Mechanized Brigade (Kyakhta) along the Russian-Chinese border reports significant Chinese forces on the opposing side of the border (perhaps for the announced war games...but the 37th report indicates concern)

That is all.

Kazan is the name of a city in RuZZia.

Is that where you live?

Dirty RuZZian.

“Biden will request $11.7 billion in emergency funding from Congress to provide lethal aid and budgetary support to #Ukraine: White House”

Some will complain, but I say RuZZia is being demilitarized on the cheap.

I agree. Better to kill the Russians in Ukraine than to have to kill them elsewhere.

“EU states, except for Hungary, agree to provide 5 billion euros in aid to Ukraine.

EU economy ministers are expected to sign a political declaration in support of the macro-financial assistance package next week in Prague, Euractiv reported.”

Hungary is on the wrong side. They will be made to pay a price for this if they wish to remain in the EU and NATO.

Not surprised...

Gazprom: “The pipeline was due to reopen on Saturday after maintenance. But in a last-minute statement late on Friday, the company said a technical issue had been found and the pipe can’t operate again until it’s fixed.”

3 day shutdown of NS1 will continue.

EU needs to go cold turkey and get off RuZZian energy. Bite the bullet and move on.

‘Germany announced Thursday that it will charter an additional floating terminal for importing liquefied natural gas beyond the four it is already installing to try to replace flows from Russia.“

Those are just the German State owned ones that have been funded since the war started. There are three more privately owned floating terminals in Germany that have also been funded because of the war. The first of those is on track to begin operations by year’s end, as are two of the five that the Government is buying.

In addition to the other European Countries that you listed, Finland and Greece are getting some, as well.

The whole supply of those FSRU LNG ships have been booked for years to come for Europe, meaning none are left for Russia to use to expand their exports.

Similarly, there are not enough oil tanker ships in existence to handle the extra (over 2 Million barrels per day) loads that still go to Europe from Russia (2-7 days one way), to go to China instead (35 days one way). They would need about six times as many ships, and the surplus capacity is already now in use. When the resources are scarce, the rich Europeans will outbid the poor Russians.

The December 5th sanctions will hit Russian oil exports much harder than any so far.

Imagine if the US President lost the whole 82d Airborne Division?
