If the candidates Prez & VPrez are from the same state, the electors of that state cannot vote for both candidates via the 12th Amendment. So, Florida electors could vote for Trump but not DeSantis or DeSantis and not Trump. From the 12th Amendment - 1st clause in the 1st sentence

“....The Electors shall meet in their respective states, and vote by ballot for President and Vice-President, one of whom, at least, shall not be an inhabitant of the same state with themselves; ....”.

If one is willing give up the Florida vote for at least part of the ticket, it’s a great idea.
