We had a very brief, violent and fast-moving thunderstorm roll through North Idaho on August 10. There were gorgeous clouds over Lake Coeur d'Alene. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to see this sight.

A few days later another storm moved through with a lot of heat lightning around 11 pm. The clouds all around and over our house were lighting up from the top side which was quite a sight to see. It was very eerie because we just had the glowing and flickering clouds without a single clap of thunder.

Strange weather always brings out the humped back pelican riding a whale cloud.

I thought this was going to be the sighting of a cloud of dust being generated by a traffic jam of Californians heading to Coeur d’Alene in U-Haul trucks.
