B-21 Raider: The Stealth Bomber That Makes Russia And China All Sorts Of Nervous

Because of the prohibitive cost of designing, developing, and fielding a strategic bomber force, only three countries field strategic bombers, able to hit continents thousands of miles away; China, Russia, and the United States.

And the B-21 Raider stealth bomber is set to provide the U.S. Air Force with 100 bombers for at least the next 30 years.

The B-21 Raider gets its name honoring the Doolittle Raiders, U.S. Army Air Force men during World War II. Just months after the sneak attack on Pearl Harbor and the U.S. suffering defeat after defeat in the Pacific theater, President Roosevelt ordered a sneak attack on the Japanese homeland.

The U.S. Air Force bomber fleet is old as you know what. This bomber seems to be the real deal from what I have read. It will be weird seeing it fly near the old B-52..

Yesterday I was not so into this bomber but I really did my homework and it seems to be coming in on time and on budget.

Um, yeah, 100 strategic bombers are great and all, but 10,000 ICBMs might be pretty good too.

In terms of delivery, I imagine subs present the greatest threat.

The problem with subs is that if they suddenly start quietly disappearing, what point is the trip wire where you say “launch”. And against who?

Subs may already be detectable by satellite.

“Subs may already be detectable by satellite.”

They were detectable 50+ years ago, but the MIC didn’t want to lose the billions doing sub hunting. It’s like the aircraft delivered nukes; there was never any need past 50 years ago, but the MIC had to have billions for nuke capable aircraft.

“but I really did my homework and it seems to be coming in on time and on budget.”

Then you really didn’t do your homework since it is over time and over budget.

Check out the related French film, Wolf’s Call. And go with the sub-titles instead the voice overs... yeah, there’s a pun ;)

I’m not aware of any technology that can detect a submerged submarine that doesn’t want to be found.
You may have come up with it but not too many other people have.
