I obviously don’t know the circumstances of why you needed a tetanus shot, but in general you’ve got to be your own health advocate on this stuff. A while back I nearly cut off the tip of one of my fingers picking a very sharp item out of the dishwasher. Went to urgent care. They wanted to push the same DPT shot on me that they gave you. I said, “You know, forget it. I don’t even need a tetanus shot. The item was just in the dishwasher in the anti-bacterial mode (which is what I always run) so I’m unconcerned that I’m going to get blood poisoning from the this cut. Just stitch me up and let me out of here.” They looked at me like I’m crazy but followed my orders.
A starving orphaned possum.
It nicked my finger while I was serving it supper.
ER said come in for a tetanus booster and I’ve only ever had those at my GP.
I had no idea there was even such a thing as a “combo shot”.
Don’t think I wasn’t worried about what else was in there because it was during the mid-Coof “jab everyone!!!” hysteria.
I really worried they’d snuck it on me.
