I’m all for the US having a military capability, but, isn’t a “missile-packed arsenal ship” sort of like a “baby-killing fully semi-automatic bullet-spraying assault rifle glock derringer shotgun with a shoulder thing that goes up”?

That really is just what the world has needed. Something to make every airliner a target. This is their best idea since they thought about putting conventional bombs on ICBMs.

They really have lost their minds. By the way, we need around 30 trillion dollars before we can call ourselves “broke”.

This is different from that. This is a self deploying “pallet” of cruise missiles dropped out the back cargo door of a cargo version 747. There is no modification to the plane needed.

Pinal Air Park? I don’t know how many 747s are sitting out there, but it’s a bunch.

I don't find this to be different than any other nationality of women. :^D

The Mojave air park is a different one than Pinal. There’s also one near Goodyear, AZ. There’s 747’s stored/scrapped/being refurbished at all of them.

Nah...

Shooting down passenger planes?

Russia’s already done that, i.e. KAL Flight 007; Malaysia Airlines Flight 17...

Currently the USAF is rolling them off the back ramp on an MC-130, they plan to try it on a C-17 ( bit more turbulence don’t you know, ( It’s why paratroopers don’t jump out of C17’s))

It would take the UAF 10 years to develop air drop capability for a cargo 747 (even just opening the rear cargo door in flight)... and they currently have none in their inventory. Nothing happens fast in the USAF.

C-17’s would make way more sense.

Almost 50 years ago, the USAF launched a full sized ICBM from a cargo aircraft.

“It also means that it would behoove any enemy to take out every civilian airliner and cargo plane at the start of a conflict. Occupied or not.”

If I recall correctly, that was the Russian’s response to the original proposal to turn 747s into cruise-missile-carriers.

Yes, I knew about the others. Pinal is the one closest to where I live, though I haven’t driven past there for a few months. I guess if you want to be precise, Pinal is in the Sonoran Desert, anyway.

Well, now, a 727 rear staircase @ 10,000 feet......😜
