Tucker Carlson Attempts to Alert GOP, Says Democrats Currently Have Strong Chance of Holding Congress in November
Red State ^ | 08/19/2022 | Levon Satamian

Fox News host Tucker Carlson is attempting to alert Republican congressional leaders and the GOP base that the Democrats, as of now, have a strong shot of holding the Congress in November.

Carlson said:

“Unpopular presidents drag their parties to the bottom in midterm elections. That’s the unchanging rule of politics. You saw it famously in 1994 with the Republican takeover of Congress after two disastrous years of Bill Clinton. You saw it in 2006 after Hurricane Katrina. You saw it in 2010 after ObamaCare. You saw it in 2018.”

He continued, noting that despite Biden’s unpopularity, the Democrats are on track to hold the majority in Congress as of now.

“So, there’s no question based on precedent that that’s about to happen once again in 2022, in November. That’s what everybody assumes and in fact, it may well happen. We’re certainly praying for it, but as of tonight, we have to be honest with you, the numbers don’t show that happening. Not even close. In fact, all the indications we have right now suggest that despite Joe Biden’s well-earned unpopularity, the Democratic Party still, again, as of tonight, has a strong chance of holding Congress in November.”

Carlson noted that Senator Raphael Warnock (R-GA) has raised more money through donations than seven Republican senate candidates combined. He said:

“For example, last quarter, Raphael Warnock, that would be the thoroughly mediocre Democratic senator from Georgia, the guy who was caught on video appearing to commit spousal abuse (Remember that?) that guy raised more than $12 million online. His opponent, Herschel Walker, who everyone likes, raised less than half of that. So far, Raphael Warnock has raised an astounding amount of money. He’s hauled in more dollars online than seven Republican senatorial candidates combined: Candidates in North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Nevada, Ohio, Florida, Wisconsin and Georgia combined.”

In an opinion piece on Fox News, Carlson mentioned Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s comments about the House having a greater likelihood of flipping than the Senate.

McConnell said:

“There’s probably a greater likelihood the House flips than the Senate. Senate races are just different. They’re statewide. Candidate quality has a lot to do with the outcome.”

As I reported earlier this month, this was not the first time McConnell and other GOP Senators pressed the brakes on flipping the Senate.

Carlson’s response to McConnell:

“So, there’s the head Republican in the Senate conceding three months out that Republicans are probably not going to retake the Senate. Why is that? Well, the answer, of course, is in the final line you just heard. Some of the candidates are mediocre. That’s Mitch McConnell’s excuse and there’s some truth in that. Obviously, some of them are mediocre, but compared to what? Mediocre in the Congress. Well, let’s see. Dianne Feinstein hasn’t spoken a coherent sentence in years, hasn’t had trouble getting reelected. Eric Swalwell had sex with a Chinese spy. He’s still there. So, mediocre people get elected to office, lots and lots and lots of them do every cycle. So, what McConnell’s analysis really is, of course, is buck-passing. Don’t blame me. I didn’t choose these people. All right, but they’re still the nominees.”

The candidates McConnell referred to, but did not publicly state any names, are likely Mehmet Oz in Pennsylvania, Blake Masters in Arizona, and other candidates he did not support during the GOP primary.

Tucker Carlson’s assessment is correct. Nobody should take it for granted that the GOP will win the majority. Yes, it will be an uphill battle for the majority of GOP Senate races; but if the GOP base comes out in droves and unites behind the Republican candidates to stop the Biden administration’s far-left agenda, they will be in good shape to win. If even some GOP voters sit out in November, that hands the Democrats the majority in the Senate, and they no longer need to negotiate on legislation.

Despite the economy’s turmoil, the GOP messaging needs to be more convincing to win over undecided and Independent voters.

How about the fact 18 California seats flipped at last minute in 2018 Midterm from GOP to Dem when “harvested” ballots suddenly arrived from nowhere?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The DemRats had won by cheating previously but they certainly honed their skills at in during the 2018 midterms. By the time the 2020 election came along, those skills were supplemented nicely with all the opportunities that WuFlu provided...
What you suggest requires one major item, leadership. Neither the Senate or the House GOP have anything close to a leader.
Problem is that I'm just pissing into the wind. Pretty much all conspiracy, all the time nowadays.
I was on the election thread (different screename) the night Buckhead and others started methodically taking apart those documents. That kind of calm, rational thought is pretty much absent now.
Unless the 2020 election gets fixed there is no 2022 or 2024. Its not brain surgery. There is no Red wave that the cheating can’t overcome.
Well, dems can EASILY CHEAT 15-20 points so I guess they win. Good job repubs.
Are we just going to blame "stolen elections" for every GOP loss from here to eternity?
At some point, this starts to sounds pathetic, If we haven't figured out by now how to fight against this then seriously, WTF are we doing?
If every time we lose we're going to cry, "Those clever Dems outsmarted us once again!" then we don't deserve to win.
“ Start with closing the border...”
I think I see the problem right there.
“Your guys” DON’T WANT the border closed. They also don’t want an end to offshoring of manufacture, an end to financialization of the economy, an end to foreign wars on behalf of alien peoples, an end to anti-white hatred in the schools, an end to the river of filth from the media, or anything else that normal patriotic Americans want.
You believe in an imaginary GOP and you want it to win. So do I.
But it’s the real GOP that’s running this Fall, and unlike the Democrats who are ablaze with passion for what THEY believe in, the real GOP believes in nothing - or worse, can’t admit what they believe in because then they would be crushed at the polls.
Tough times ahead.
“We need to come to terms with the fact that Mitch, and other big RINOs, don’t WANT to retake the Senate.
Their lives are easier, and in some senses they hold more power, as the minority. They can sit back and whine, blaming dems.
And they will never, ever, ever, get voted out.”
This has been obvious for at least 15 years. People still say, “Mitch, if you want to be the leader, why are you acting like this?
He’s acting just the way the other GOP senate wants him to. McCain and Romney go in and lose the White House then still get elected to a minority senate and lead from behind
Trump gets in there and they hate him
Bannon, God love him, tells his audience, the congress is going to move in and fix this in January. MAHA congress has to take over for hat to happen. Even Ted Cruz, Jim Jordan and john kennedy do nothing but talk
They don’t want to fix anything. What have any of them said about anything like the 2000 election or the raid?
“ Zero chance that McConnell doesn’t want to retake the Senate. His entire career has been trying to game Senate votes so as to maximize the chances that the GOP ends up in the majority.”
His entire career has been gaming it to be in charge of a minority senate. As only one of many examples, he did nothing to correct Georgia and Michigan in the cheating in 2020 that took away the senate for the GOP
That is their campaign platform. Mitch, lindsey, cornyn, anyone following them- Rubio, Cruz, Tim Scott
Beellllechh!!
And they don’t do nothing. They rake in the dough selling us. Mitch gets his wife appointed to hugely powerful spots. Mitch Told Trump what to do
His entire career has been gaming it to be in charge of a minority senate.
Again, that is ridiculous. Whenever McConnell has the power, he uses it as effectively as any Senate majority leader in the last half century. When he had just a razor thing majority, he rammed through the most significant tax reform since Reagan, as well as orchestrating the greatest conservative takeover of the Supreme Court in history. That's a guy who loves to be able to use that power when he has it.
As only one of many examples, he did nothing to correct Georgia and Michigan in the cheating in 2020 that took away the senate for the GOP.
I'm assuming this is the best example you have because it's the only one you mentioned, and it comes nowhere near proving your point.
Exactly what the hell was McConnell supposed to do? First, most of the voting issues were state-based, and it requires action on the state level to fix them. Anybody who has remotely followed this knows that. McConnell has nothing to do with that. If you want to blame anybody, blame Trump for focusing more on claiming that he won then trying to actually fix the problems.
And second, to the extent there are federal issues, he is the minority leader at a time when the Democrats control the Presidency and both houses of Congress. There is literally zero chance of Republicans in Congress enacting voting legislation that would reduce the ability of Democrats to cheat, because they wouldn't pass it in a million years.
What McConnell has done successfully is stonewall Congressional Democrats' "Freedom to Vote" and "For the People" Act, which would have reversed some of the progress Republicans have made at the state level.
Blaming McConnell for the lack of federal legislation on voting after the 2020 election is ridiculous.
“ Trump won with people who had not voted in years…”
And Democrats who voted for Obama twice. Don’t forget them - they are the key to a future we can live with.
“If both don’t flip after the last few years then screw this country, it’s all over.”
You think anyone could have foreseen the damage the 17th amendment has caused?
Congress elected by the people.
Senators elected AND REMOVED by their state.
President elected by the United States.
If YOU kn ow that and YOU do nothing about it, YOU are the problem.
Become a Precinct Committemen.
Become a Precinct Election Official.
Talk to others about doing these things! THAT was the difference in VA from 2020 to 2021.
In 2020, republican poll watchers were only about 30% staffed. Biden won.
In 2021 there was 110% of Republican poll watchers and officials. Republicans swept the state!
Get involved.
Even today Newt would know the top five... probably the top 10.
He should be consulted.
When winning’s seen as a ‘team effort’ toward a well defined goal - it takes away the sting and power of crudite missteps...
