It's not stupidity in the usual sense of the word. This is absolute panic. They know that the proverbial jig is up. If Trump gets back in office most of them will not only lose office but many of them will go to prison. I just hope that Trump has his own security keeping an eye on the Secret Service guys. If all else fails, they Will try to have him killed.

Yes, there's a lot of desperation and panic wrapped up in the path they've chosen. They see Trump's candidates around the country winning, they see the January 6th Committee producing nothing but gaseous emissions from the Cheney family, and they see their internal campaign polling.

They'd love to instigate some sort of response that the media could spin 24/7, now that everything else they have tried has failed.
