Kash Patel, a former top Trump administration official, told Breitbart News on Wednesday that a report claiming classified materials were found at Mar-a-Lago is misleading and that the documents were actually already declassified by then-President Donald Trump, but the classification markings had not been updated.
“Trump declassified whole sets of materials in anticipation of leaving government that he thought the American public should have the right to read themselves,” Patel told Breitbart News in a phone interview... “This story is just another disinformation campaign designed to break the public trust in a president that lived on transparency. It’s yet another way to attack Trump and say he took classified information when he did not,” he added.

In a modern information age- when all documents are created and stored digitally, how do you impermissibly “take” documents? Are they suggesting that the National Archives does not get an archive of digital records from an outgoing administration?
I have really grown to LOVE Kaah Patel.

The Biden Praetorian Guard will manufacture evidence that they will allege was found at Mar-a-Largo.They have done that before. Think the Dirty Dossier, a manufactured hoax. Trump lawyers were forbidden from watching the process going on in Mar-a-Largo. This is unlawful. This is the worst attack on the United States in its entire history. We can blame all of this on Biden and that should be a case for his impeachment.
Just a reminder, the President can declassify anything he wants, at any time, for any reason. He can’t go around privacy laws, but classified info... that’s entirely the purview of the Chief Executive. Has to be documented somehow (otherwise it can’t be proven that it ever happened), and it’s ok to assume that markings are correct, but there’s a process to challenging classifications and it doesn’t involve an FBI raid.
This is ultimately going to turn out to be Trump versus some nothingburger deep state weenie who decided he knew better and lied.
The real banana republic part is going to be when someone tries to pull the whole “if it was incorrectly declassified, it can be treated as a spillage adn reclassified at a later time if it can be retrieved” as a justification for the raid, ignoring the whole part of it being appropriately declassified.
This is what I have been asking since the so-called journalism experts in the media have been bemoaning the “classified” boxes of papers.
Trump very well may (probably?) DE-classified these things so he could take them.
Also, even if he didn’t, what is the ordinary practice of those exiting the Oval Office? Do they take some of these personal papers for a time? I seem to recall reading that BO did that, too.
Anybody remember Sandy Berger stealing “code word” classified from the National Archives 20 years ago? I don’t remember night time raids on his residence. I would like to say this is the straw going to break the camels back, it is past time to start organizing against BS being thrown at us.
Unlike Hillary’s classified documents, these are serious and a concern...

You are missing the boat, the search warrant for archival documents was a pretext to conduct a fishing expedition into all documents Trump had from his days in the Documented Cesspool. Ya see, they are looking for any hint of evidence he planned to resist the stolen outcome. They perhaps even thought he was planning on using the NG on Jan 6 to stop the Congress IMO and that is why Pelousy would not go along with his legitimate request.
The sad part of this is that with Jan 6th is Trump walked into their trap which they set for him.
I don’t think that is correct. My BIL for instance is a virulent anti Trump guy. He is former Navy. Served in the state side Navy that is. I think we know the type, the REMFs.

We must marginalize ALL members of the FBI. They are all complicit. There are no good ones, or they would have already resigned in protest.
