Basically you are saying not to give Trumps enemies ammunition to reinforce their diatribes, lies and criticisms of him. Optics is really important in politics.
That quote describes FJB. None of FJB’s outbursts during the campaign, attacking average voters with insults, name calling Trump a clown and racist on live tv didn’t hurt him either. In addition, FJB or any demonkrap has a phalanx of others who hurl the insults, etc so FJB and any other prominent demonkkrap does not have too. Trump does not have that; he is a one-man army. And look what happened to his presidency - and how every branch of givernment worked against him 24/7 for 4 years. Not to mention the media, companes, education, etc ...
We’ve become conditioned to what we expect in politicians, even to the point of allowing them to lie to us repeatedly, yet if the optics and the way they talk is good, hey let’s keep electing them. The aren’t “mean”.
Trump did not have to respond to Musk, whom I have never trusted. But that is easy for us to say sitting behind a keyboard - we aren’t in the ring. Trump will never be able to peel off any demonkraps and some RINOs if he is elected in 2024 to get things done for US that need to be done. But the reality is that any nice talking, clean speaking GOP elected to WH won’t either - they will be vilified by the demonkraps. Just ask “W” who just sat there and took it trying to be Mr Nice, Mr Manners, Mr Rogers. Look where it got him with the media, women, and the demonkkraps?
We are in a political war and the demonkkrap party has to be destroyed. Only Trump seems to act like he knows it. Maybe he isn’t the person to lead it in 2024, but there isn’t anyone else in the wings who appears to understand what is at stake - they are still conditioned to play by Queensbury rules where it will be nothing but a loss.
