Sowell had some pretty harsh things to say about candidate Trump https://www.lenconnect.com/story/opinion/columns/2016/04/11/thomas-sowell-why-donald-trump/31990185007/ and Trump developed a grudge. My emails to the White House were usually answered, but no answer to my several emails urging Trump to award 90 year old Sowell the medal of freedom.
It’s Trump’s failing that he holds grudges instead of working on turning enemies into admiring friends; that is something Lincoln was justly famous for.
