When the mobs steal from local stores, they are stealing from their own communities and ultimately from themselves. Why don't they see that?

I once "waded" into a midnight mob looting a department store, and politely tapped one of the looters on the shoulder in order to ask him exactly that question. He put down his sack of "booty," and we engaged in an hour-long discussion on the morality of theft. (He defended Pelagianism, while I defended a more Augustinian point of view.)

When they burn and loot pharmacies in their neighborhoods they don’t see that they are hurting their families, kids, grandparents, etc. Same with grocery stores.
