This could be a preview of what is to come in he near future. Our world economy is a very complex, interconnected system that is currently destabilized and in danger of unraveling. There are literally billions of poor people living marginal existences in densely populated third world countries only months away from potential famine. We may see significant food shortages and massive food price hikes that make food imports unaffordable to many poor countries in the near term future. Desperate people do desperate things.
