I am curious how many gun grabbers are on this list. I suspect it is ripe with hypocrisy.
Not surprising because the left wants to take guns from non-violent citizens while leaving them in the hands of violent criminals.
While the ‘background’ check seems reasonable, this is the (intended) downside. The records are retained by the State and therefore guns are registered. Everywhere, every time throughout history registration leads to confiscation which leads to tyranny and slaughter of the population by the State.

Apparently CA has a “firearms safety certificate” also, required to purchase a gun. (You need to take a class first, evidently, before you can buy a gun or ammo.) According to someone on Reddit, they also published the names of all the people with that certificate.
