CORDES LAKES, Ariz. - Authorities say a suspect has been taken into custody following barricading themselves after shooting and killing a Yavapai County Sheriff's deputy on June 28.
The sheriff's office says the incident took place in Cordes Lakes. The deputy was taken to the hospital where he died.
No further details were released.

Cordes Lakes is an area of poor retirees and on the fringe people. There is nothing there, not even a lake.
There’s a turnoff to Prescott off of I-17 nearby; you are right; not much of a place.
