Paul Clement is a great lawyer. I’m confident he got a huge payoff to leave the firm. When you factor in how much money he demanded to leave, he was probably very happy to accept the deal.
He was a partner and his clients will follow him to his new firm.
I actually worked on a 1998 assignment from a staffing firm doing data entry work for a case the Kirkland & Ellis took on regarding AOL Online Games. The place was quite elegant, taking up the top two floors of a large building near the White House. Ken Starr — yes, THAT Ken Starr — even had an office there.
I supposed Mr. Starr would be persona non grata there nowadays.
Kirkland & Ellis: yet another wing of the Democrat Party.
Is there a way somebody could complain to the bar committee about the lawyers who forced these legal minds out of the firm?
