Ukraine will not be a NATO member. That was priority #1 for Russia, accomplished. It also appears the Russians will prevail in the Donbas. Conquering and occupying Ukraine was never a goal. The Russians have fared as well we have economically. The Russians, notwithstanding three months of western disinfo, look pretty successful to me.
I disagree. Russia has been set back a generation because of this war. For example, the aviation industry was straddled with $13 billion worth of aircraft stuck in Russia. Many industries will simply not take these risks anymore for quite some time in Russia.
