As far as the biological labs, they are part of the 30 year old Biological Threat Reduction Program that few have paid attention to until now. The program started in 1990s after the fall of the Soviet Union to deal with all the chemical and biological warfare material Russia had, a lot of it was in Ukraine. Over time, the labs got repurposed to medical and disease research. They are labs, not production facilities. As far as the Morning Star's headline, "US asked to explain after Pentagon admits to operating 46 biolabs in Ukraine after months of denial", is a lie. The existence and purpose of the labs has been public for years, long before the invasion started.
