Some points of interest:
The front line is 1500km long; artillery barrels are rifled and wear out, losing accuracy, however, they still fire so it takes more tubes firing at the same target to destroy it.
••How fertilizer, food, and energy are related.
In the 50s and 60s people figured out how to produce cheap nitrogen fertilizer. The Green Revolution in the 50s large plants converted Natural Gas into nitrogen fertilizer which significantly increases crop yield. Russia has huge deposits of NG; plants set up near sources - many were in Ukraine. 30-40% of world’s nitrogen fertilizer was controlled by Russia.
When costs of NG goes up, fertilizer costs go up, farmers use less fertilizer, food prices go up. On a global scale, world production of food falls.
Example: Pakistan produces some of its fertilizer needs from its own NG, but has to import more to meet its needs for food production and power. But now the price of NG is so high, most of it is being diverted to Europe, and as a result, Pakistan cannot meet its needs and is having blackouts.
US Federal Reserve sets Interest Rates essentially for the rest of the world. Going up quickly. Destroys equity and stock markets. Commodities remain mostly untouched, which is unusual. What is very bad is that because the supply of crude is so constrained around the world, the US Fed rate increases are not enough to bring the prices of crude and other commodities down, specifically crude down which means interest rates need to go much higher to destroy consumer demand in the West.
Everybody will feel the pain it is just a question when.
Western economy has too much debt - over-leveraged. Not Ukraine’s fault, it did not start the war.
••Heavy Weapons Situation
Essential no new announcements
7 Pzh-2000 on June 22 from Germany, also M142 and M270 MLRS - 4 from US, 4 from UK - that is it and will not change anything. Ukraine leadership beginning to realize there are no large quantities of Western heavy weapons coming. Ukraine cannot afford to fight the war from the point of abundance of resources, which they have been doing. Ukraine needs be efficient to stem the ground war. The ZSU has been behaving as if they were Soviet Union and throwing stuff everywhere and getting a lot destroyed. No plan B.
ZSU uses a lot of Soviet caliber 122mm & 152 mm. 122mm was cheapest and most abundant. But now the ZSU has run out of 152mm, and there are no manufacturers other than Russia. Everybody else uses 155mm. Ukraine never bothered to create its own 155mm weapons and shells.
Riffled artillery tubes wear out and tube needs to be replaced, but ZSU has no stock of spare barrels. (Edit: the weapons still fire, but it takes multiple units to hit the same target, which uses up ammo and tubes which could be hitting other targets.) Alternative is to just take the pieces out of service.
So now Ukraine needs to switch from 152mm to 155mm in both shells and weapons. It has neither the weapons nor the amount of shells needed coming from the West to replace the 152mm units they have - across a 1500km front line. Looming crisis in short order.
(Edit: according to link above, the ZSU will be getting more HIMARS after the first 4 are trained up. They are not the area destruction artillery there ZSU is used to firing.)

Apparently the two issues are the underwhelming explosive power of the warhead, and the terrible camera.
Where have all the Orc trolls gone? Is the infestation over? Or are they in some sort of meeting to relaunch their attacks?
The trolls have tended to leave my postings alone recently.

If you read the war zone article you would learn that the training is in its last week. But it will be a few weeks to get the systems into the county, manned, positioned and so on.
Perhaps they are at a Putin rally in St Petersburg?
