Russian artillery is pulverizing Ukrainian positions, causing huge casualties. They have changed tactics and are no longer frontal attacking with armored vehicles. Unless the Ukrainians can disrupt the continuous Russian supply of shells, fuel and ammunition, they will lose within a month regardless of Western aid.

That Russian artillery needs to be answered. Until the Ukrainians have an effective answer, the Russians can just keep hammering away, yard by yard.
This phase of the war is going to the Russians.
NATO Defense Ministers are supposed to consider a request for 1,000 howitzers on Wednesday, 15 June.
That might be what it would take. Way past the easy stuff.
