On this point I agree with you. People who seek higher political office, while enjoying the many benefits and perks of that office -- money, fame, power, women, etc -- should indeed be subject to protests from their constituents, even at their residences. If you want privacy, don't get involved in politics: don't accept a position of political power. This is part of the deal.
