I am well aware of Boeing, and GE, and Pratt, Rolls Royce, and numerous others ( including our own defense contractors) unable to produce without Russian commodities and metals. Let’s say I know the aerospace and defense industry “intimately “.
That said, we ( our industries) are just now beginning to realize the historic grave consequences of vegetable heads Sanctions and weaponizing the dollar. We have not seen the worst yet either….going to get critical as the “ just in time” material and supply philosophy adopted by the Aerospace industry adopted a decade ago fails, big time.

Ironically, Airbus somehow still has access to Vlads hoard of metals and commodities, they aren’t saying how, but it is rumored they are paying Vlad dearly in Rubles.

There is more, Russia ( Aeroflot) flys a huge fleet of Airbus
aircraft, contrary to fake western news, it appears they have NOT stopped shipping them parts totally, they found alternate under the public radar methods and routes ( Turkey and other non western third party) and as Russia announced they will manufacture their own parts ( they manufacture almost all of Boeings titanium forgings in two joint venture plants in Russia- Boeing built them) but guess who will train them?

…..and as said all along, Vlad continues to say Checkmate to vegetable head Joe, again, and again…any comments from the bad Vlad and war cheerleader crowd? You have been had by senile a Joe, again.

I, too, have heard of this hair-brained ‘Just-in-time” concept. Probably not too bad for the Japanese when they made VCRs, but not so great for critical military products.

I suspect the same is in place for military hardware production of weapons, such as Stingers and Harpoons - why warehouse a whole bunch of them when you can simply make more when needed? Well, that is until you realize that the country you just decided to go to war with provides critical links in your supply chain. I guess they never figured on that. And that doesn’t even get in obsolescence issues...so we’re two to three years out before we can replace everything that we just dumped in Ukraine (unless Russia is willing to sell us back what they’re capturing, or we know where to look on the Black Market).

And how about these pencil-heads thinking they could use GPS for precision-guided munitions. Works well against goat-herders, not so well against a country that can jam and spoof GPS, as the Ukrainians are learning at the cost of body-bags...even if the pencil-heads aren’t willing to admit their idiocy.
