17% sounds about right, maybe even higher. I know Eggs are up 32% in one year.
I remember $1.07/dozen eggs at Aldi when Trump was in the White House.
Where I live eggs were up 100% in one week because of a virus that affects the chickens that lay the eggs. But I just bought 10 pounds of Tyson chicken legs from an Aldi for the very reasonable price of $5.90. So inflation is a mixed bag, but in general it is unpleasant.
