Guess I'm different. From the very beginning. As the planes took off to my favorite Foghat music the ground(deck) crew, through their signals and mannerisms were acting like they were choreographed dancers, not crewmen.
Manly, machismo. I dig it man! Then there's the big man-hugs. Makes you think that in adversity all our societal problems are solved regarding feminism and race. All that Gung-ho stuff just had to make me laugh. Been there-done that.
Yeah, that diner scene with the local yokels looking at the disheveled pilot who somehow wasn’t turned into atomic dust at Mach 10 and then the kid with his one-word line. Ugh.
On the bright side, that kid will forever remember uttering his one-word line in that movie with Tom Cruise.
On the way out of the theater, my wife said she loved it and asked me if I liked it. I thought about the complete honesty vs. little white lie conundrum for a moment and replied “It was great!”

I recall interviews with the US troops that were in Afghanistan. The best sound to those ground troops was the A10s because they provided the close ground support.
