Great observation. And this situation illustrates it perfectly.

Disgusting donut cops!

And no, I am not anti-cop.

Just anti-cowardly cops and anti-corrupt cops like these dodo-birds in Uvalde!

"The SCOTUS declare that police have no duty to protect you from harm in 2005. This explains why the cops are always waiting."

I remember that. Then why do these wannabes put on a badge and wear a gun if not to protect the innocents of society?

This is probably the example that will come up in a dictionary when the term “tone deaf” is searched.
Idiots.

“We haven’t changed. The police have changed.”

YOU NAILED IT! Decades ago, police had a true SERVE the public mindset. Today, most have a LORD OVER the public mindset. Good servants look out for the best interests of their masters. LORDS only look out for THEIR best interests.

This statement is beyond anything a screenwriter could come up with, while writing a brutally accusative farce of Uvalde law enforcement performance. You can't make up anything worse than this $hit.

There was not one door, but two doors, to rooms 112 and 111, with a door on the interior wall between. So the single killer had to divide his time and attention between them.

Also, I believe there were windows on the back sides of the room. These could have been used to find out which room the single killer was in at any given moment. A simple car mirror taped to a car antenna will serve if nothing better is immediately available.

Police can be on both sides of both doors while out of sight of the shooter unless he opens a door, in which case the police can block the door open and attack immediately.

Police shooters waiting under the windows must be ready to spring up and fire through the windows at the taller male shooter.

If no keys are available, and no SWAT breaching teams, firefighters have tools for prying open doors very fast.

Much could have been done other than waiting for everybody to bleed to death.

They could have forced entry at two points simultaneously, the window and the door, thereby confusing and distracting the shooter.

Maybe more children would have lived, and would not have bled out pleading, waiting for help that never came.

“And no, I am not anti-cop.”

As FYI neither am I. Police put themselves on the line everyday.

However in this case we are provided these photos of the Uvalde police which are quite damning in the context of everything else we have been told.

I grew up in a small town and am truly saddened by how poorly the police as a unit performed in this case. I tend to think much of it is poor leadership.

I don’t know any of the men in that photo but I suspect many might have been motivated to step up if provided the proper leadership.

the vast majority of them do put their lives on the line- many do so regularly- in tougher areas- we just don’t hear abotu the many thousands, even hundreds of thousands of cases where cops face dangerous situations when responding to calls- all we hear about are when the cops screw up- which isn’t nearly as often as when they dont

did these cops get a ‘stand down’ order (maybe because the kid was hispanic?)- i heard 6 officers entered the building, then left- and wouldn’t let anyone else in- seems like they came out with the intention of not allowing anyone in if that was the case- if so, where did the orders come from?

I suspect you are right- it’/s smelling more and more like a stand down order from the top somewhere- question is, does it go all the way to the top? The white house? or just local?

Flash bangs thrown in through the window at the same time several go through the hallway door. Over in a minute.

Exactly.

It appears more and more that the stand down order was deliberate to maximize damage to the children.

If so, it was a diabolical decision, and Arredondo belongs in hell.

” the stand down order”

That is such a lame excuse for these cops. In this situation you DO THE RIGHT THING and worry about asking for forgiveness later.

Why was no sniper immediately deployed outside of a window? And by “sniper”, I don’t mean some highly-trained marksman. I just mean some guy who’s a reasonable shot armed with a bolt-action rifle.

And why were no flash-bang grenades or tear gas deployed? Was everybody waiting for someone else to give the orders?

This whole thing is pathetic beyond belief.

I read that with great interest. The author hails from Waseka, MN. I visited there for a few days last summer. Cute little town.
