Many of you may have had a close relationship with Seth and are feeling a sense of loss and disbelief.
Others, like many of us, are experiencing stress, grief and anxiety related to the coronavirus pandemic and the recent murders of George Floyd, Riah Milton, and other Black Americans.
Sincerely,

Ouch.
Yikes
Sick B$&@#’s.
Thanks for posting this. Not surprisingly, I don't ever recall hearing about this crime when it happened.
Berkeley is a dangerous place. It is right next to Oakland. Blacks from Oakland come onto the campus to rob students of their electronics, bikes, jackets - all the time. I was warned about this before my daughter enrolled at UC Berkeley.
The campus is not safe, even though administrators told us parents there are cameras everywhere to record everything - I immediately thought: “When a crime occurs, the cops are minutes away...” In four years, I never saw campus police.
My daughter’s friend, who was also accepted at UC Berkeley, declined after a campus tour. My daughter wouldn’t be dissuaded, Berkeley is the crown jewel of the UC system. She made through OK - when we visited a few months ago, it is far worse, homeless have taken over the main college business district adjacent to the campus, they are everywhere and the streets are filthy. Couldn’t wait to get out of there, and I doubt we’ll return.
It surprises me that they did not release him outright. It being California. But they worked hard to get where they are now.
That statement by the school clearly shows how dysfunctional most of academia is today. Those sorry bass-turds are not worth their high salaries and titles.
SPJNK. And the murderer, too.
It’s a damn shame because it is (used to be?) a great university. Excellent in the basic sciences like physics, chemistry, and biology (at one point I think Berkeley had more Noble Prize winners on the faculty than any other institution save Cal Tech). A great law school too. One of my old work colleagues attended there, she was a great engineer.
I also hadn’t heard about this until now. The story apparently went down the memory hole quickly.
Words fail me....
It was very well written.
My favorite line, which I will remember and use...
"Treating a whole race as below agency and above accountability."
In this context, "agency" means "personal agency," a person or group that can act to produce a specific result.
This is enraging beyond belief!
When will it finally dawn on people that blacks and whites cannot peacefully coexist together, and that the only solution is separation?
Same goes for left and right.
Why insist on putting dogs and cats in the same cage?
Thanks for posting...
“It being California. But they worked hard to get where they are now.”
The Berkeley man charged with murdering a 19-year-old Cal student just out for a walk on Dwight Way nearly two years ago is slated to be sentenced Monday to 25 years in prison as part of a recent plea deal in the case.
I find it a little strange that they can let certain people the state has protected walk free in the state while protecting those caught murdering people with plea deals while if some kids get it from a terrorist it’s time to go insane and make guns impossible to purchase. Anyone else see the inconsistency? They’ll do anything for votes.
