As mentioned previously, the race for mayor of Los Angeles features a non-leftist candidate, Rick Caruso, who is polling well and just might win. LA badly needs some adult supervision. The city has around 40,000 homeless, rampant crime, and a corrupt culture at city hall. The main leftist candidate is Rep. Karen Bass, who is more a Leninist than a “progressive.”

Given the seriousness of the issues and discontent of LA voters, what does the Los Angeles Times think is most important for voters to learn about Caruso? I kid you not—here is their headline:

What a joke. The major of L.A. has pretty much zero ability to impact the climate anyway. Out of his pay grade.

He’s not going to win and even if he does, the corrupt city council and a state judges and activist groups will keep him in check.

I can understand why even though he always was registered as a Republican and now is registered as a Democrat, because he needs stupid L.A. Dim voters to win.

There has been some public backlash against some of his real estate developments over the years, but those issues were usually outside the city of Los Angeles. Unless his competitors in the election make campaigm ads about them, Los Angeles city voters will likely not hear much about them.

The only people who do not believe that needles and human feces in their streets are more important than “climate change” are ideologues who don’t have to experience the disease and squalor in their daily lives. That’s why certain of us (mea culpa) have been most uncharitably chuckling to see crime move at last into the gated communities.

I have seen an ad against Caruso that super imposes Donald Trump image and says Caruso would be the Donald Trump of Los Angeles as if Trump would be bad. He would clean up the city.
