I do have a couple of pairs of Carhartt jeans, which are relatively comfortable.
34 x 30 here. Hit or miss on stores having my size. I wear Wrangler to work, but like the Lucky Brand jeans outside the job.
If you like 501 button fly jeans (like 501’s) Carbon2Cobalt has a nice button fly with comfortable cotton. $89. Best pair I’ve bought in a long time for fit, comfort and flair.

Tragically even Walmart is going Woke, but thank God for good prices.
Land’s End sells inseams by the half inch with lots of waist and fit choices.
Many years ago when I was young and skinny, my Mother had me wearing LEE brand. For some reason later went to wearing Wranglers. When I started buying for myself I soon went to Rustlers which is an unbranded Wrangler. I think my first pair was between $7-$8. They are above $12 now, not sure as I buy only once a year or so. If I order at least 3 pair online I get free shipping to my door. They quit carrying my size in house (Walmart) several years ago but always are in stock when I order. I haven’t owned any other style of pants since high school.
They do! But holy-moly they are proud of them! ($$$$)
Thanks very much for the info in jeans, and the suggestion to buy used.
Rural King. Ten bucks.
Even to 48x30
Fortunately, I lost weight - significantly
Hope to diet again soon
>> In an age of declining clothing quality, sky-high prices for brand names and woke corporations, you can satisfy the need for quality, price and avoidance of supporting wokism by buying used.
I usually buy my jeans in the thrift shop, but a couple of years ago I was unimpressed by what I could find and bought a new pair. I was so pleased: they were the style I like and fit me perfectly.
Then I washed them and they shrank.
Now I am stuck between a rock and a hard place: can’t find jeans I like in the thrift shops, don’t want to buy jeans that will shrink.
I am bummed.
They do, I worked there a long time ago. Great clothing!
And Duluth Trading firehouse pants are great for working in the woods or around prickers. Nothing ever snags on them.
I live in a college town. I recommend travelling to one the week before graduation and checking out the thrift stores.
By my calendar you shouldn’t wait too long.
You may find that the same occurs there as here.
Alternative: Specialty shops marketing used jeans.
The problem is that there are buyers of used jeans who end up wiping out the market to satisfy the niche specialty shops...and you end up paying a premium anyway, but they’re already pre-shrunk.
If you read my whole post, I had to buy new as well, but got lucky in that the size I chose didn’t shrink beyond tolerance.
“I almost never wear jeans. They’re hot, and they restrict movement.”
Same here. I only wear jeans if I know I’ll be in them for less than about four hours. NEVER wear jeans when traveling — so uncomfortable.
What a great tip! I live between 2 college town LOL! So I may be in luck! Thabk you!
No prob and good luck!
Well done!
I’m a chick with a 34 inseam.
32s on me are capris.
But at least chicks can wear capris.
I’ve been looking at LL Bean. But most of their chick jeans come in something called medium tall.
What the bleep, LL Bean?!
I’m not a medium anything.
That’s the frigging problem!
Note to retailers who want to make some money: Tall people need clothes, too.
Would someone people do a tall shop for their clothes? Bricks and mortar. Just one. Somewhere like the King of Prussia in PA mall, or nearby. I’d drive a couple of times a year if I could try on the dang clothes. I’d also buy more if I didn’t have to worry about returns.
One other beef: If I need tall bottoms, I need tall tops, too. I’m too old to bare my navel.
