The New York Times had a cow over the apparent demise of President Joe Biden’s Disinformation Governance Board and painted it as a victim of — wait for it — disinformation.
Times “veteran” foreign and national security correspondent Steven Lee Meyers published an asinine story headlined: “A Panel to Combat Disinformation Becomes a Victim of It.” Meyers mourned that the Department of Homeland Security was “suspending the work” of the DGB “intended to combat disinformation after what the department described as a deliberate disinformation campaign.” According to Meyers’ lament, “the fiercest denunciations came from the right,” which included correct characterizations of the DGB as “an Orwellian Ministry of Truth that would police people’s speech.” The DHS paused the DGB’s operations after significant backlash.
Meyers pleaded that being a Ministry of Truth “was never the board’s mandate, a department spokesman said in a written statement.” Ah, so the “Ministry of Truth” narrative wasn’t true because a “Ministry of Truth” loyalist said so?

The Left simply cannot abide alternate viewpoints. It challenges their worldview and crumbles their groupthink narrative.
The democrats will take this into the shadows, but find ways to use official agencies and prosecutors to continue the attack.
Everything the Left doesn’t like is “Disinformation.”
The Jankowicz chick was a loon (a cute loon...) and had a record to prove it. Her experience with disinformation was with its use and propagation, not its prevention and she was a die-hard lefty.
But publishing factual information on her was “disinformation.”
If you look at the way things are going, the Left trying to clamp down on everything. There is so much going on that a lot of it escapes notice. It doesn’t help when the Media is on the Left’s side.
It’s called “Freedom of Speech”, but apparently that idea went out with the test of the Bill of Rights.

Funny, the Disinformation Board lasted just about as long as CNN+. Coincidence? I think not.
We already have a non-government Ministry of Truth; the Southern Poverty Law Center. We don’t need two truth watchdogs....
So the nyt wanted the government to monitor thoughts and words, searching for unapproved ideas and acting quickly to suppress the ideas and to punish the dissidents. No surprise.
