Okay, not a huge amount of hail but in this part of Florida any ice falling out of the sky this time of year (or any time of the year) is unusual.

The winter of 77-78 I saw snow flurries in Coral Gables.

I’d moved in early 1977, back to NJ, so I missed that.

We had hail yesterday in Palm Beach County. It was a pretty bad storm, it took down a tree, and a lot of tree branches everywhere.

I was there and even though no one remembers, we had a coating around 1967-68, can't remember the exact date.
I was walking to the school bus stop when it happened.

We had hail today also. Near Indianapolis. Strange indeed.

I’ve lived in the Tampa Bay area most of my life. While hail isn’t exactly a common occurrence, I’d hardly call it rare.
It seems to be most likely to happen during the torrential afternoon thunderstorms that pop up in July & August.

yes, that was hail... but very far from golf ball sized hail normally seen in the mid west during tornado season

Could we have more hail today in Broward County? It is starting to rain again and when I went outside to check, that rain was FREEZING cold. Waiting now to see if it intensifies.
