Makes me wonder if this lockdown strategy is part of a larger picture. Under Biden, we are the weakest we have been in decades. If China isn’t producing we also fall apart. If anyone thinks supply chain issues are a problem now they may be about to become far worse. We are far too dependent on them. We may think they are too but maybe the CCP considers the peasants expendable and are willing to sacrifice them to bring down the USA. Some form of economic destruction where they believe they’ll survive better than us?

It just feels like there’s more to this...

I agree.

I asked my Chinese immigrant neighbor this morning what she thought was going on in Shanghai. She said it was CCP historical squabbles from the past. Shanghai is somehow 'freerer' than the rest of China and the CCP is punishing them...or some such.

Just the way BiteMe is trying to blame inflation and high gas prices on the war, Xi will blame the collapsing real estate sector and other things on covid. He owns the real estate mess. They printed yuan with abandon after 2008 and built ghost cities. An attempt to inflate GDP and claim they caught up with the US. Many were lured into investing. Xi owns the mess so is using covid as the fall guy as it all unwinds.

Your post makes sense.

We could be headed for a major collapse of the world economy. A real Perfect Storm. I hope I’m wrong.
