We need to get rid of electronic voting and use a paper ballot on election day only with very, very limited alternative voting options (e.g., military). How about we do what we’ve actually done in places like Iraq—purple ink? And make election day a national holiday—one day, one vote.

Back in the ‘60s where I lived, it was treated like a holiday, but I don’t know if it was called a “holiday”. Schools and businesses were closed all day for voting. I don’t know if it was a local or state (NY) thing.
