He has the motive as stated in this article. To turn one of the Conservative
Jurist.
Plus relying on SC police to do the investigation instead of bringing in the FBI
is more evidence that he does not want the leaker to be found.

He doesn’t want “his” court being forever remembered as the one to overturn Roe v Wade. He would rather bring the institution down instead?

It’s possible that no justice or clerk leaked these things, but that the Supreme Court is under surveillance by intelligence agencies. In fact, I’d be surprised if it wasn’t. The motive for the leaks is to energize the left, and build opposition to Republican candidates in the coming election. You can already see the Democrats using this to raise money and with Warren saying that this will be on the ballot in November. Sadly, I think she’s right.
