No amount of civil defence preparation would change the fact that all Russia’s major towns and cities would be reduced to radioactive rubble and the vast majority of their citizens dead.
There might be some people in Siberia or underground bunkers that avoid relatively unscathed in the immediate aftermath but life thereafter for those relatively few would be a ghastly struggle and it’s hard to see how it would be worth reducing Russia to that state just because Britain itself would be annihilated entirely. After trying to fend off starvation throughout a long nuclear winter many of the survivors would come to envy those who died in the initial strikes.
What a load of nonsense. Russia has form for this not just in the UK but even within it’s own borders with Navalny. If MI5 had instigated this op why have they identified specific individuals they followed a radioactive trail to?
And why would they not have them killed to make sure they can’t talk?
Russia is a very large country.
There are parts of it that could not be hit with nuclear weapons without causing massive fallout over either China or Japan.
That combined with their civil defense advantage makes them a winner in any nuclear war scenario.
I know you don’t want to hear it, but you can be sure the insiders in DC know it.
A global nuclear war would have no winners. Russia would have more survivors but they would be living nasty, short and brutish lives struggling in the remains of a shattered world. I doubt any Russian leader is going to calculate that a nuclear war is desirable on the basis that some villages in Siberia and bunkers in remote locations will survive the most immediate consequences of a nuclear war. Moscow, St Petersburg and every other city or town with more than 10,000 residents would be destroyed, that is enough to deter Russia from starting a nuclear war even if they emerged slightly less devastated by comparison.
