I remember reading about the guy that Romney was up against for the Republican primary. If I’m not mistaken, born and raised in Utah and had seemed to have some legit creds.

Anyone FR folks know what’s up or was it fraud to install Romney?

Mormons are convinced Mitt’s presidential material, and they have some prophecy that says a Mormon will be elected President before the end of the world.

Mitt Romney got on the ballot using signature petition, a method the Legislature instituted to bypass the State party Caucus.

The following explains it fully: https://ballot-access.org/2014/11/25/utah-republican-party-will-sue-to-eliminate-petition-bypass-for-primary-ballot-access/

The next part brings you up to date. The lawsuit failed.

Signature-gathering alternative

In 2014, Utah laws changed to allow for candidates to gather signatures as a way to bypass conventions. In order to successfully bypass a convention, a candidate must collect a certain number of signatures. The number of signatures required changes depending on which office a candidate is pursuing.

For a statewide race, including an election to be a senator for Utah, a candidate must get 28,000 registered voters’ signatures. For a congressional race, the requirement is 7,000 signatures in the district. For smaller races, fewer signatures are needed. For a state senate district, a candidate needs to get 2,000 signatures and for a state house district, they would only need 1,000 signatures.

Wrote this about 6 AM Mt time and got distracted. Hope it is still a question.
