The Germans are intelligent. They restricted Turkish Muslim immigration in the mid-1990s.
The Simon Weisenthal Center responded with an outcry, saying that Germany was reverting to its racist, xenophobic Nazi past. I remember hearing a radio news report at the time, citing the Wiesenthanl Center's denunciation of Germany's new immigration restrictions.
Germany quickly rescinded its immigration laws, desperate to prove to Jewish NGOs, and to the world, that it had truly deNazified. That it welcomed diversity.
Many Germans know diversity is bad. But they're even more afraid of being painted as Nazis by the foreign media.
In Germany you play the Nazi Card to advance an abhorrent agenda in the USA you play the Race Card. The effective is the same the political establishment cowers in the corner.
Weisenthal was a grifter.
“Many Germans know diversity is bad. But they’re even more afraid of being painted as Nazis by the foreign media.”
The left know that the vile slanders of “Racist!” and “Nazi!” have worked for years, so they trot them out to fit any occasion, regardless of facts or circumstances. Those slanders are the bludgeon the left use against anyone who does not submit to their agenda.
Thus, the terms have become meaningless from overuse.
