Elon Musk vs. Twitter Board of Directors Is a Battle for America’s Soul

When I was a kid growing up in New York City in the 1950s, my parents were liberal Democrats. They were “Gladly for Adlai” (Stevenson) in the presidential elections of 1952 and 1956 and therefore, their loyal child, so was I. (Dwight Eisenhower, the winner in those elections, turned out to be one of the better presidents in American history.)

They of course supported Freedom of Speech, that pillar of American democracy. All members of the Democratic Party did then, at least publicly.

By the time I was in high school, I had gone, like many in my generation, to the left of my parents, but never—not once—did I or my friends of the time think to forego free speech. We were exercising it.

Enshrined in the first amendment of the Bill of Rights, along with its natural cohorts—freedom of religion, press, assembly, and petition—freedom of speech was and is the very essence of what made America America. Without it, democracy does not exist.

At least since the Magna Carta (1215), and no doubt earlier, people have been fighting for this right so they can speak their minds to their overlords and live, as much as possible, in a just society.

When I was young, and also as I grew older and became more conservative, I never wavered in my devotion to freedom of speech, as I imagine few of you have.

Restriction of speech we associate with Hitler, Stalin, and later, Mao—by far the three greatest mass murderers in human history with roughly a hundred million deaths between them. That they regularly censured speech was no accident. It was part of the plan.

But in America, we were largely allowed to say what we wished—with the normal caveats, of course, like shouting fire in a crowded theater.

That is,

The battle for America’s soul was the 2020 election. Everything else is bread and circus.

The Left views Musk as the bogeyman. Look out, he just may come, buy your propaganda site, destroy your delusions and restore sanity. He is the personification of the primordial fears of the juvenile Left.

Idiotic Freepers that want to start WW3 with Russia are crypto-leftists and One World Government stooges.

It’s worse. Stale bread and feces-throwing monkeys.

The Democrats, with help from foreign entities, corrupted electronic voting machines, extra invalid ballots, corrupt social media outlets, Federal Agencies who depend primarily on that party for funding, crooked Republicans who will not enforce the law, a failed Department of Justice for not investigating what happened (Federal Agency) and other chicanery stole the last Presidential election. There is so much evidence that it happened I am not going to re-hash it.

What is NOW important is that we are in an extremely dangerous political situation requiring fight, or flight. The reason for this conclusion is that when a large group of people perpetrate such a crime (of treason), the penalty for that IS long-term imprisonment and/or death (for the ringleaders) and they know it. They are NOT going to concede to EVER to having stolen the election even if the FBI would investigate such and bring charges BECAUSE they will face the aforementioned consequences.

They will fight. And, they have to continue with the criminal overthrow and subjugate EVERYONE who disagrees, either forcibly changing their minds or killing them to avoid the punishment they deserve in this life. That leaves the opposition with only two (maybe three) choices. One can fight, one can leave the country, or, one can submit and just obey them since they are now in charge. It is NOT looking good at all.

I support free speech, online and off. I also support elon. I don’t think he is a stooge.

I don’t think supporting Ukraine means you’re supporting nuclear war either.

I think all of those things can be seen as normal and good responses. Some seem to say you gotta be pro-putin or die though.

Truthfully, I never even though about Elon.

I am NOT a fan of EVs nor space travel.

But, recently, if he is going to fight for free speech...I LOVE ELON MUSK.

I wish him success.

Elon won me over when he said he was born on Earth, but wants to die on Mars. The powerful message meant a lot to me. And now he wants to open Twitter? I’m not going to be a fanboy like I used to about Lucas/Spielberg, but good job.
