I have done it when shopping for clothing.
That does not mean I bought clothing made in the USA. However, I bought Wrangler jeans made in Ol Mexico instead of Levis. Hanes underware made in the Dominican Republic.

The tough thing is power tools. They are almost all made in China now. I think only Dewalt makes some here.

They still use Chinese fabric, in most cases. Just remember that "Made in the USA" does not mean "Made by Americans".
