I bought a newly built house in 1980 with an interest rate of 13%...I had excellent credit.
My neighbor bought at the same time as I did and paid 17% interest.
Lookout!
I take Stockman’s prediction as a buy signal.
I just look forward to the “cats and dogs living together” part.
And the mass hysteria, of course.
The Demographics Of Financial Doom
"Whether we admit it or not, collapse is the default “solution.” That destiny has already written by demographics."
Also, I have a hard time seeing the Fed crashing the stock market in the run-up to the mid-term elections. I think the Fed governors want to help Democrats in any way they can.
One of the changes in government that I would insist upon if in the position to do so would be to either: 1. Require each and every person in elected office (or who is a first or second degree relative of or works for someone in elected office) to disclose at least 1 week ahead of time any stock sales or any stock shorting; or 2. Require the same groups to have all of their investments in one of the same stock funds / money funds that the rest of the population uses.
Could be right, could be wrong. I’ll vote for right.
Huh. Fetish? What nonsense. He makes it sound like the Fed has been controlling something these days. We have been over 2% inflation for a while now.
With interest rates near 0 and Biden increasing energy prices in double-digit percentage territory the all powerful Fed has fewer levers available these days to jostle.
Which bubble will burst first? Housing or the Stock Market? Close call.
Well, Stockman did allow that the Fed will probably crash the market unintentionally.
If they let inflation soar, the stock market will crash eventually ayway.
He’s right. Just the timing is an unknown.
If I were smart I would have bought a farm over 30 years ago and worked to make it completely sustainable and off grid. All my seed would be legacy, and all my animals would have their food grown on site. I’d basically have learned to live like the Amish, only a bit more hi-tech. As much as I’d like to do it now, it’s far too late for me and my wife absolutely refuses to even consider a move to a better climate and further away from the West Coast. Like Florida.

How has his record been up until now?
I don’t want to end up living in a van down by the river, cause I’m sure she’d get everything.
Wow!!! I didn’t know the moon was 10x closer to earth during the dinosaur times? Learn something everyday!
Fed needs inflation. Worthless dollar is thle only way they can pay off the mountain of debt. With tons of worthless dollars.
