On March 29, 2022, Florida Governor DeSantis held a press conference. At about 6:30 minutes, he announced he vetoed the Congressional district map put forward by the Florida legislature. He took questions after his announcements. There was a question about other issues. Governor Desantis responded. From thefloridachannel.org, here is a transcript:
I would love to have property insurance. I would love to have data privacy. I would love to have Constitutional Carry. There’s a lot of great things. But you know we just went through a legislative session where they failed to deliver on some of those priorities, and so what I will do, I will ask the legislative leaders if there is something you can get across the finish line, and I will encourage them to do that. Because I think there is a lot of key things they could do.
That is a possibility. The initial call will just be for the Congressional map, but is absolutely possible, that when we actually convene, when they actually convene for the Special Session, that you could see additional issues raised there.
Florida Representative Anthony Sabatini tweeted that Governor DeSantis is calling a Special Legislative Session to pass Constitutional Carry:
BREAKING:
is calling a Special Legislative Session to pass Constitutional Carry
The tweet by Representative Sabatini is rather optimistic, it appears. The answer to the question was at the press conference. Governor DeSantis merely stated Constitutional Carry would be a bonus; the main purpose was to have a new Congressional map. Governor DeSantis mentioned the actual proclamation had not been completed.

Thanks for the ping.
DeSantis and Michael Knowles are the two best things to come out of Yale that I can ever remember.

K, Thx, Bye. :-)
A point that has consistently been lost on Democrats, Progressives, Liberals and everyone on "that side" of the political chasm for decades and decades now.
The point has not been lost on them.
Or plain evil.
I try not to attribute anything to stupidity when evil is the more likely explanation.
DeSantis will be lucky if he gets CC out of a special session, since certain GOPee legislators oppose it.
The Gunshine state.
I like that.

DeSantis 2024 2028!
And hopefully, FL will still have a CCW permit option. That way, other CCW states with reciprocation will recognize the permit and allow those Floridians to carry inside their borders.
As Matt Bracken put it in one of his TMS videos, if he were living in a blue city, presumably in a blue state, he would literally move out with next-to-nothing and sleep in a field in a red state until he could get a job doing dishes. Somebody please correct me if I got that wrong somehow.
As it is, for me, I’m likely to lose my job of 22 years because I moved from Maryland to Florida. So what? I’m in a better place.
Come on down!
There’s no real relief for conservatives in that state, since it’s dominated by places like Cook, Lake and Will Counties.
Unlike Schumer, Hillary, et al., DeSantis actually seems to use the cameras for good.
Lake County used to be reliably RED also. In some places it is, others not. I have friends there, that's what they tell me. I have to take their word for it, I'm not up on the politics in Lake county. I'm now (God in Heaven help me ..) in CROOK County where at least the property taxes are (somehow) cheaper than they were in Will County. I'm in the furthest west and south part of Crook County. Farm on one side, forest preserve on the other. Basically on the edge of 'civilization' out here.
My time here is growing short. The stress of living in this hell hole of a state, living in this rat race in a job that's so damn' stressful it's going to kill me is just too much. Pushing 60 years old and getting ready to pull the ripcord. Illinois can kiss my lilly white ass on the way out the door.
Exactly.
Honestly I am surprised that it was among the first ten states!
But there are too many darn RINOS in this state, and there are the very ones who crafted those illegal unconstitutional Red Flags laws.
