It’s like any technical race. The balance of power may go back and forth. I’m sure there’s a lot of current work on countermeasures to anti-tank weapons.
But even back in WWII days Patton understood that tanks in urban or areas with concealment only survive with aggressive infantry patrolling and combat engineers for mine and IED removal.
It is the age old battle between infantry and cavalry writ large.
The horse empowered people, then the pike slowed down and mitigated the horse, armor helped make cavalry superior but gunpowder took it down. The tank rose up but the infantry carried AGM brings it down.
The next stage, if we survive, is force fields and BOLOs.
