Trump must have run his organization with an almost unbelievable level of play-by-the-rules, don't-go-outside-the-lines discipline.
Bernie Madoff got away with a fantastic level of criminality for decades and was never detected until his Ponzi scheme collapsed, at which point it became completely obvious that he was a total fraud. He cost his investors almost $70 billion. Whistleblowers told the SEC and FINRA about him multiple times, and were ignored. Many market experts suspected there was something fishy about his organization, and their observations were thrown in the garbage by highly-paid federal regulators.
Trump appears to be the exact opposite. He has been gone over with so many fine-toothed combs it's a wonder he has any skin left on his body, and not a thing was turned up.
I think Trunp knew he was going to run at some point in 2008 and made sure everything was extra squeaky clean going forward.
