I’m not a Zelensky cheerleader. but, come on, it’s pretty ridiculous how a small segment with the Jewish world screams bloody murder anytime someone has the audacity to liken anything to the holocaust. They do the same thing when pro-lifers talk about an “abortion holocaust.” Or Armenians talk about their genocide at the hands of the Turks as a holocaust. Yes, yes, we get it and everyone stipulates that Hitler’s holocaust was, is and ever shall be the “worst ever.” I mean seriously, it’s pretty silly to demand a sort of ownership over a word and flip out whenever someone else uses it a non-approved way.
I wouldn’t compare it to the genocidal aspect of the Holocaust, with the camps, torture, slavery, or intended culling, but the military strategy seems to be the same as Hitler’s: Invade without a declaration of war, catch them off-guard, and kill everyone including women and children. The goal doesn’t seem to be genocide, but rather emptying the country by any means possible to take it over. The goal isn’t genocide, it’s to take control and no doubt destabilize the West.
Hitler had far more battlefield firepower compared to his enemies, and had soldiers who were more determined to win or fanatically loyal than Putin has in Ukraine now. Putin has bigger and faster bombs, but he hasn’t really gone for the big ones, and let’s hope that doesn’t happen. The Ukrainians are also far more resolute in defending their home than he anticipated.
