Nuclear threats are not the words that anyone, not even a madman can keep. Ever hear of MAD? Before Putin pulls the trigger on a nuke war, he knows that it means the end of Russia and of him and of all his dreams. So, he's got just as much reason to fear a nuke was as the rest of the world. Besides, Putin is not the one that would pull the trigger and he's got generals that, hopefully, are not as insane as Putin.
