I agree 1000%. Recruiting the best of the best is the way it should be done. Too bad it does not work that way in real life. Gotta make room for the legacy and diversity admits. In reality, worthy candidates with a few lower marks but superior all around skills more often than not outperform the top tier paper tigers with perfect resumes when all is said and done but the well connected and diversity admits are increasing in percentage and crowding out the smart people which really hurts institutionally.
