A pharmacist that used to work at my local drug store was from Africa. Very friendly guy. One time when talking about rude customers he said American blacks tend to be the worst in that regard and that they were different than those from his country. I don’t remember now what country he was from.
I’ve experienced the same. Became good friends with a local restaurant owner/operator black family. She was from Tanzania, he was from Kenya, I believe. Very sweet, family-oriented, conservative family. They would openly share with me their contempt of American black culture, particularly the ghetto-slang variety. They were absolulely NOTHING like American blacks. It’s a night-day difference.
I’ve seen disagreements at work when an African would tell the American ones to stop behaving as though they “were at home”...
