From what I’ve read over the years, Murdoch was a bleeding-heart liberal — even socialist — always. He just saw the business opportunity in a media outlet with a conservative bent. And it worked for him.
The sons and their wives eventually took Fox where their liberal hearts were.
I don’t know how conservative the senior Murdoch is. He apparently supported Hillary Clinton for President.
