Since I was 12 at the time and obsessed with the space program, I’m trying to figure out how I missed that event. Turns out I didn’t: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apollo_1 because it was an in-capsule fire in a pure oxygen atmosphere that killed the entire crew on the pad during a launch procedure practice.
